Reimagining Fashion

After 12 years of runway shows in Marion Square, Lexus Charleston Fashion Week® is stepping out in a fresh new form. “We’re embracing the whole city and spreading the luxe and love beyond Marion Square,” says executive director Naomi Russell. The opening celebration for The Events, 2019—a series of programs taking place throughout the year—is March 22 at the Cedar Room in the Cigar Factory. Event No. 1 delivers curated pop-up shops from top Charleston brands amidst high-energy entertainment. Sip cocktails and snack on light bites, then take advantage of beauty touch-ups and more before an unforgettable after-party. [charlestonfashionweek.com]

Shop the Studio

”Italian-inspired and Southern charmed”: that’s how Erika Lynn describes Erika Lynn Studio & Boutique, which she opened last month in Mount Pleasant. Informed by her travels through Southern Italy, the Savannah College of Art & Design grad crafts leather handbags and accessories from python, fish, ostrich, alligator, and cowhides. Her new space also showcases clothing from Italy, including a line of linens. [608-F Long Point Rd., Mount Pleasant; erikalynn.com]

A Welcome Addition

For the sweetest springtime dresses and johns johns, rompers and short sets, head to new West Ashley children’s boutique Ellifox. Owner Lauren Fox translated her two-year-old online shop into a brick-and-mortar, selling clothing, accessories—from backpacks to Easter Baskets—and gifts while specializing in high-end custom embroidery. “If someone can dream it, we can create it,” she says. [1662 Savannah Hwy., Ste. 220; ellifox.com]

Sage Advice

After a decade downtown, women’s wear retailer House of Sage added a second location on Daniel Island last month. “House of Sage is known for its cool, California-casual style,” notes Erin Abagnale, who founded the business with her husband, Chris. “As we have grown and expanded our family, it made sense to grow and expand our brand into an area with young families and professionals like us.” Stop in for everything from dresses to denim and shoes to workout wear—plus a small selection of kids’ clothes—and watch for a grand opening event to be announced on Instagram. [186 Seven Farms Dr., Ste.
