DIRECTIONS:
  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers (sorrel), available in grocery stores and online
  • 4 cups water
  • 1–2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp. fresh grated ginger
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Juice of 1 lime

Bring the hibiscus, water, cinnamon, and ginger to a boil, then remove from the

heat and let steep for 15 to 20 minutes. Strain. Stir in the sugar while it’s still warm. Add the lime juice and chill. Serve over ice.

This can be enjoyed as a refreshing mocktail, or add a splash of vodka for a cocktail version.
