Plus, REI Co-op opens in Mount Pleasant

Gucci has relocated to a larger, more visible store on King Street, offering an expanded collection of its handbags, shoes, clothing, and accessories.

Making a Move
The brand that has been making shoppers look (as Meghan Trainor’s hit song says) since it was founded in Italy in 1921 has relocated within Charleston Place to a larger, more visible storefront on King Street. The new 4,200-square-foot Gucci boutique features its signature handbags, luggage, shoes, watches, jewelry, clothing, and Gucci Beauty line, as well as the new Cosmogonie collection, which includes the iconic “Jackie 1961” and “Diana” styles. The Charleston location is one of the few shops in the country to carry precious leather handbags and shoes for both men and women. [242 King St., gucci.com

Stay Golden
Often imitated but never duplicated, the popular Golden Goose Italian sneaker brand, known for its star logo, has landed alongside other luxury retailers on King Street in the former Victoria’s Secret space. Shoppers will have the opportunity to customize their favorite pieces from shoes and bags to clothing and accessories at a dedicated co-creation space. Don’t miss the bold, blue Instagram-ready dressing room, and look for themed Sneaker Maker events on March 9-11 and April 21-23. [254 King St., goldengoose.com]

Ready for Adventure
REI Co-op, a retail destination for outdoor enthusiasts, has opened its first Charleston area-store in Mount Pleasant. The expansive 21,500-square-foot space includes a bike and ski shop, staffed by certified mechanics; a Re/Supply section, where shoppers can trade-in equipment for store credit or purchase gently used items; as well as a wide selection of gear for camping, cycling, running, fitness, paddling, and other pursuits. Seattle-based REI is embracing its new community with a mural of Botany Bay on one of the store’s walls, as well as by donating to several locally aligned nonprofits, including Charleston Waterkeeper and Coastal Expeditions Foundation. Join the co-op to receive special member benfits.[1720 Shoremeade Rd., rei.com]
