Find out what he’s wearing this spring

Find him @the_charlesmopolitiangent, a fitting Instagram handle for the M. Dumas & Sons custom clothing specialist who’s always impeccably dressed, whether sporting a tailored jacket or a sweatshirt and jeans with his distinctive eyeglasses. The Charleston native began his retail career at Bob Ellis Shoes. After the beloved King Street store closed in 2016, he moved to Atlanta to work at Ralph Lauren, where he says he gained a deeper appreciation for the fashion industry. Here, Miller shares which trends from 2020 will be lasting and what he’s looking forward to this spring.

Q What’s the most treasured item in your wardrobe and why?
A
My sport coats because they are an expression of myself. I like to think of my style as classic with a twist, so while I focus on traditional shape and proportions in my tailored clothing, I like to explore and experiment with subtle details that give an outfit just enough interest while remaining true to my aesthetic.

Q What is your go-to look for spring?
A
Right now, I’m most impressed with the line of ”summer cashmere” jackets from Sartorio, a brand we carry at M. Dumas & Sons. They are impossibly light in weight, and the fabric is out of this world, plus they are available in 35 different colors so you can create a really special look.

Q What are your favorite local shops other than M. Dumas, of course?
A
I am a big fan of The Original Charlieo Company; they do all of my custom sportswear designs.

Q Your eyeglasses help make your look. Where did you find them?
A
Thank you! They are an incredible brand out of Italy named Feb 31st and were crafted by hand for me after personally designing them with the great team at Jackson Davenport.

Q Do you have must-have skin care products?
A
Guys are finally realizing it is cool to take care of your skin, and I am enjoying all of my products from Baxter of California.

Q Which trends are you looking forward to incorporating into your closet this season?
A
With work still looking very different for a lot of my clients, some great menswear trends that are here to stay are technical dress trousers and dress joggers, especially from PT Torino and Eleventy Milano. They are familiar and new at the same time.

Q Tell us about your Instagram account.
A
Whether it is my followers or my customers, I am happy to introduce them to my life and share the things that I love—from cocktails to cigars and a round of golf with a client. Right now, I’m especially fond of The Watch for a cocktail and a great view followed by a bowl of pasta and a Negroni from Le Farfalle
