Q What lipstick do you love for summer?
A Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in “Pillow Talk.” It’s just a tad bit of color but nothing too bright.

Q How does your personal style translate to your designs?
A My style is very relaxed and simple. I don’t like a lot of fuss. I am the most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt.
Q What is your go-to destination on a summer weekend?
A I love the North Carolina mountains to escape the Charleston heat. Watching fireflies twinkle at dusk is magical.

Q What’s new for Kate McDonald Bridal?
A Currently I am working on my 2020 “Portrait of Love” collection. I finished the first five dresses which debuted in New York City back in April.
Q Favorite sunglasses?
A I just purchased a new pair of Warby Parker shades, and I love them.
Q What summer trend are you particularly excited about?
A I love that top handle bags are coming back around. I have a great vintage wicker one that I plan on carrying everywhere.
Q What’s your must-have beach item?
A Supergoop sunscreen. I don’t tan, but I love to be outside so I have to be careful and respectful of my skin.
