Revelry Brewing Co.
We were thrilled when we stumbled across this gem of a brewery, boasting a sunny, pup-friendly patio and creative suds, in the historical Cool Blow Village. Pours like Funkmaster Brett and the Furious Hops—a brettanomyces-laden IPA—deliver big on flavor. One caveat: the place doesn’t quite have its food game together. A small menu is posted online, but on several visits, soft pretzels were the only available noshes. Co-owner Sean Fleming tells us that at press time, the team is searching for a chef who can turn out food as high-quality as the brews. The promise of a new menu, plus the rooftop bar Fleming says is in the works, are two good reasons to stop by again soon. www.revelrybrewingco.com

The Junction Kitchen & Provisions
Be ready to carbo-load at this new Park Circle spot, where you simply must try the biscuits with sausage gravy and the “Buzzed Doughnut” (and good news: they serve breakfast from 7 a.m. ’til their 7 p.m. closing). That second item involves coffee-rubbed bacon and an over-easy egg on a housemade, not-too-sweet doughnut. Drizzle on coffee-mocha sauce and scoop up some of the accompanying hashbrowns, and you’ve found heaven for a mere $7. Lunch fare includes basics such as clubs and cheesesteaks alongside the “Energy Salad”—packed with quinoa, edamame, avocado and more—which we’re excited to try on a return visit to this happy addition to Spruill Avenue. www.thejunctionkitchen.com
