Rose & Twill quilts for a modern generation

Lime greens and hot oranges, deer antlers and bright botanicals: the quilts that 30-something Caitlin Pape’s creating in her downtown home studio are a far cry from your grandma’s (but intended to be treasured for just as long). A former graphic and web designer, Pape launched Rose & Twill just over a year ago, not long after the cover of a quilting magazine inspired her to teach herself the form of textile art.

”A quilt is basically a graphic design, but you can hold it, cuddle with it, and keep it forever,” says Pape, who sells her work at www.roseandtwill.com and www.Etsy.com, fulfilling many custom orders along the way. ”It’s satisfying working with people and creating exactly what they want,” she notes.
