Bar Food: Warehouse

Bar Food: Warehouse
December 2014

This aptly named establishment a block off Upper King looks like a bar and behaves like a bar, but the dishes served within its industrial chic walls certainly surpass all preconceptions about bar food. Start with the deviled eggs, either piled high with a perfectly fried oyster and chow chow or the “Daily Inspired”—a past fave is the curried shrimp. Move on to the fall-off-the-bone Memphis-style confit wings or one of the grown-up grilled cheeses, such as the Reuben with corned beef and pork belly pastrami oozing with melty fontina goodness and Russian dressing. Our advice: go early on a weeknight, order many plates to share with friends, and wash it all down with a house specialty cocktail. 45 1/2 Spring St., (843) 202-0712, www.wearewarehouse.com
