Revamp Your Workout

”As far as we know, no one is doing anything like this—HY | LO is the first of its kind,” says Landis Clayton of the Mount Pleasant fitness studio he and two business partners introduce this month. The sleek facility is two stories for a reason: the first floor hosts sessions of a high-intensity class (combining cycling, rowing, TRX, free weights, and more), while the second is devoted to low-impact classes combining techniques of yoga, barre, pilates, Juvo, foam rolling, and calisthenics. In early March, a 10-day free trial will be up for grabs. Both monthly memberships and Flex Passes are available for ”HY” classes, ”LO,” or both. You can snag 10 days of free classes here, too—register online. [1601 Palmetto Grande Dr., Ste. I-7, Mount Pleasant; mtpleasant.cyclebar.com]

Graceful Entrance

Look for the early-March grand opening of Mason Hosker, which quietly settled into a State Street address back in December. Designer Danielle Mason Hosker’s flagship store currently displays two dress collections, as well as a preview of Spring/Summer 2017’s ”Nouveau,” showing at Charleston Fashion Week on Friday, March 17. Local shoppers also have first dibs on Hosker‘s Bespoke Bridal Collection, officially debuting at April’s New York Bridal Week with gowns for the aisle, for fêtes such as the rehearsal dinner, and even for the mother of the bride. ”My dresses are designed with a nod to the gilded times when quality, craftsmanship, romance, and glamour reigned, but with a modern flair for ease and sophistication and a balletic eye for movement,” Hosker notes. Taming Tresses

Getting pretty got more convenient last month when Kiawah Island residents Jeremy and Elaine Bollington opened two salons side-by-side in Mount Pleasant’s Patriots Plaza Shopping Center. Colorado-born franchise Waxing the City specializes in head-to-toe waxing for women and men using two custom-formulated, skin-pampering waxes. Next door, Blo Blow Dry Bar—boasting 75 locations across three countries—washes and dries tresses into seven signature styles while offering à la carte updos, braids, and more. Even better? You can visit both seven days a week. [905 Houston Northcutt Blvd., Ste. 100 & 101, Mount Pleasant; waxingthecity.com & blomedry.com]
