The Party: Charleston Magazine Club members gathered at West Ashley for a special cooking lesson with Food, Fire & Knives, a unique organization that provides courses and in-home culinary lessons with private chefs and specialty, customizable menu choices. The special club-only event took place in the commercial kitchen of The Schoolhouse, where 12 club members learned to make Asian pork lettuce wraps with hoisin peanut sauce, as well as a second-course dish of perfectly seared salmon with miso cream sauce and a soba noodle stir fry. For the unique sweet finish, the chefs of Food, Fire & Knives had prepared avocado ice cream for guests prior to the event. The evening was filled with both mingling and education, and all club members in attendance went home with full bellies and new skills to spare.
