Plus King Street stalwart Croghan’s Jewel Box is on the move

Bonjour, Sézane
It just got a lot easier to achieve that effortless “French girl” style with the opening of L’Appartement Sézane, which is popping up for a year-long residency at The Charleston Place. The Parisian-born brand founded in 2013 is known for its “French Essentials” collection, featuring breezy boho blouses, lightweight knits, denim, and outerwear, as well as handcrafted handbags, bold jewelry, and chic shoes. Customers can expect the 2,500-square-foot boutique to host exclusive events and collaborations with local businesses. While Sézane has permanent locations in New York and San Francisco, it has opened other pop-ups in Austin and Nashville. [222 King St., sezane.com]

On the Move
Croghan’s Jewel Box, a third-generation-owned jewelry store that has boasted a presence on King Street since 1907, is moving. But don’t worry, you won’t have to go far to shop engagement rings, gold club bracelets, camellia bowls, and the whimsical “Goldbug” collection. The Charleston institution—run by sisters Mariana Ramsay Hay and Rhett Ramsay Outten with fourth-generation family members Kathleen Hay Hagood, Mini Hay Avant, and Mikell Hay—is relocating less than a half mile down King Street to a 6,000-square-foot, two-story building near the Charleston Library Society and the Preservation Society shop. The expanded showroom will feature antique and estate pieces alongside designer collections from Temple St. Clair, Elizabeth Locke, Marla Aaron, and Single Stone, as well as exclusive Avant-designed collections. The new location also will include dedicated spaces for custom designs and jewelry repair. [155 King St., croghansjewelbox.com]

Happy Anniversary!
Contemporary women’s boutique Maris DeHart is celebrating its anniversary with an “On Cloud 9” party. You’re invited to wear sky blue, white, or silver; enjoy light bites and bubbly; and receive a gift with purchase on July 31 from 4 to 8 p.m. Founder Alden DeHart Haviland opened the boutique in 2016, offering a collection of party-ready dresses, as well as on-trend shoes, handbags, and jewelry.
