Estelle Colored Glass was inspired by Stephanie Hall’s grandmother.
Vintage in concept yet contemporary in design, Estelle Colored Glass embodies timeless elegance and refined modernity. Lowcountry native and lawyer-turned-entrepreneur Stephanie Hall created the luxury glassware line in appreciation of her grandmother’s gracious Southern hospitality and distinguished hosting. “It allows me to preserve my family roots and to introduce colored glass in a modern design that makes it appealing for our homes today,” says Hall. “I can’t count how many times I have been told by individuals that the pieces remind them of their grandmother’s collections.”
Hall spent a decade practicing law in Baltimore and Washington, before returning to Charleston to pursue her interest in business, founding Ruth’s House Event Rentals in 2005 and shortly afterward co-founding Wedding Flower Rentals with her sister Selena McCollum.
The Lowcountry Local First board member launched her most recent business venture, Estelle Colored Glass, in October 2019 after five years of research and design. The glassware collection consists of heirloom-quality pieces hand-blown by artisans based in Poland. The line is minimal-chic, featuring glass cake stands along with stemmed and stemless wine glasses offered in a variety of colors—from lush jewel tones to more delicate pastels. The company recently introduced decanters and champagne coupes in a new palette of wintery hues.
Hall reports the business has seen strong sales throughout the pandemic because of the increase in online shopping and focus on home entertaining. Her collection is available in local stores, including Hampden Clothing, GDC Home, and Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant, as well as Anthropologie and Williams-Sonoma.
