The Gibbes Museum’s new Ruth and Bill Baker Art Sales Gallery showcases works from its visiting artists series.
Off the Wall
Art aficionados can browse a new gallery at the Gibbes Museum of Art and go home with a piece they admire. The new Ruth and Bill Baker Art Sales Gallery replaces The Daily coffee shop on the first floor and showcases works from the museum’s visiting artists series, which features South Carolina artists “whose work contributes to a new understanding of art in the South.” The gallery’s inaugural exhibit includes pieces from Kristy Bishop, David Boatwright, Tim Hussey, and Kristi Ryba. Art from painter Katherine Dunlap and sweetgrass basketmaker Antwon Ford will be on display—and for sale—October 19 to November 29. [135 Meeting St., gibbesmuseum.org]
