As part of Spoleto Festival USA, Behind the Garden Gate takes guests into private downtown green spaces.

Glorious Gardens Tours - May 7, 14, & 21

Historic Charleston Foundation’s Festival of Houses & Gardens continues with three days of tours through private green spaces. Each fundraising event includes four to six stops, with guides on hand to share details about history, design, and plant materials. Locations vary. Friday, 2-5 p.m. $75.

CHS Lecture Series: Bennett Saunders - May 10

Join the Charleston Horticultural Society for a lecture by Bennett Saunders of Saunders Brothers, a century-old Virginia nursery specializing in boxwoods. Held via Zoom. Monday, 6:30 p.m. $10; free for member.

Behind the Garden Gate - May 29 & June 5

A selection of the Holy City’s most stunning residential gardens are open for self-guided tours in this collaboration among Spoleto Festival USA, the Charleston Horticultural Society, and The Garden Conservancy. Each Saturday features six different landscapes. Locations vary. Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. $75.
