Time-Honored: I grew up in the jewelry industry: my father, Victor Sandler, is a master bench jeweler. I was always especially interested in watches and watchmaking. When I joined the family business in 2006, I helped our jewelry store expand into fine watches and designer brands.

Trend Alert: For jewelry, yellow gold is making a big comeback, and more people are choosing to go with fancy shapes such as oval, pear, and cushion cut for their engagement rings. We’re also seeing women and men opt for smaller watch case sizes with very clean designs.

Staying Power: Simple, elegant designs set in gold, such as a classic pair of diamond stud earrings, are always in style.

Wow Factor: A favorite piece in our collection is a 1900s platinum and yellow gold ring set with a large fancy-cut diamond. I also love the Breitling Superocean Héritage chronograph in blue—it’s design hasn’t changed since the ’50s, and it still catches your eye.

Dad Approved: William and Henry pocket knives are a really cool gift for Father’s Day. Each handle is inlaid with unique materials such as dinosaur bones, woolly mammoth teeth, or exotic wood. And watches are always a great gift: they look good, get used often, and can be passed down to the next generation.

Interstellar Style: I’m a NASA geek. As a kid, I attended space camp. Now, I have a vintage Omega Speedmaster, which was integral to the Apollo 11 mission—the astronauts wore one on each arm. Every time I wear mine, it makes me feel like I’m part of that history.
