A circa-1945 Halloween parade

School children parade through the intersection of Broad and Meeting streets in their circa-1945 Halloween costumes—from clowns to cows to Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck—led by teachers from McInnes Day Nursery School. Opened in 1927 under the direction of Miss Anna Belle McInnes, the school was located steps away from Washington Park at 34 Chalmers Street, offering sessions for kindergarten and primary grades from Monday through Sunday.
